N scale EMC E2
This is the extremely rare Electro Motive E2. One two A units and four B units were ever produced. The units were owned jointly by Union Pacific, Chicago & North Western, and Southern Pacific. They were used on the City of Los Angeles and City of San Francisco starting in 1937 and 1938 respectively. The A unit LA-1 had the logos of UP and CNW on its nose, while the A unit SF-1 had the logos of UP, CNW, and SP on its nose. These locomotives stayed in service on the UP City trains until 1948 when the A units were transferred to CNW and SP. CNW's was renumbered 5003A, and served until 1953 until was wrecked in a head-on collision. SP's E2A was renumbered
#6017 and painted in Daylight. It served from 1948 until
1953 when she was rebuilt into an E7A.
