Bell AH-1T 161022 US Marine Corps

These are 1/72 scale decals for the Bell AH-1T+ Factory Demonstrator, serial 161022, associated with the United States Marine Corps.

This aircraft comes with a great piece of aviation lore: when pilots from Air Test and Evaluation Squadron HX-21 arrived at the Bell factory to evaluate the AH-1T+, they flatly refused to fly it — the helicopter was wearing Bell's factory demonstration scheme, and the Marines weren't having it. The aircraft had to be repainted in Marine Corps Field Green before the Marines would even climb in.

It's a story that perfectly captures the Marine Corps' no-nonsense attitude, and it makes this demonstrator one of the more characterful Cobra subjects out there.
