These are N scale 3D printable files for the Baldwin DR-6-4-2000 — the iconic "Shark Nose" passenger diesel built exclusively for the Pennsylvania Railroad, one of the most visually dramatic locomotives ever to operate in North America. Designed to fit on a Kato SD70ACe mechanism.

The DR-6-4-2000 was Baldwin Locomotive Works' entry into the postwar passenger diesel market, produced between 1948 and 1950 specifically for the Pennsylvania Railroad — the only railroad to ever own this locomotive type. The PRR took delivery of 18 A units and 9 B units, 27 locomotives in total, making every DR-6-4-2000 ever built a Pennsylvania Railroad locomotive in Tuscan red. The locomotive's celebrated "Shark Nose" carbody was designed by Raymond Loewy — the same industrial designer responsible for the PRR's legendary GG1 electric locomotive and the T1 steam locomotive — creating a visual family identity across the Pennsy's most prestigious motive power that was unmistakable on any platform.

The Shark Nose was conceived as the diesel complement to the PRR T1 duplex steam locomotive, also styled by Loewy, and the two types shared the same sweeping nose profile and design language — a deliberate aesthetic choice by the Pennsylvania Railroad to present a unified, modern image on its premier passenger trains. The DR-6-4-2000s worked the PRR's flagship passenger services along the New York–Philadelphia–Pittsburgh–Chicago corridor, one of the most heavily traveled and prestigious passenger rail routes in North America, hauling trains such as the Broadway Limited, the General, and the Pennsylvania Limited in the railroad's signature Tuscan red passenger livery.

Despite their striking appearance, the DR-6-4-2000s had a relatively short service life — Baldwin's complex prime movers proved difficult to maintain compared to the simpler EMD and ALCO designs that dominated the market, and the PRR retired them earlier than their dramatic looks might suggest. Their brief but spectacular career makes them one of the most sought-after and visually compelling subjects in Pennsylvania Railroad modeling.
