These are 1/72 scale decals for Boeing EB-47E Stratojet 524100, operated by the United States Navy for Fleet Electronic Warfare support.

The EB-47E was a dedicated electronic warfare and electronic countermeasures variant of the Stratojet, modified to carry jamming equipment and electronic intelligence-gathering systems in place of its original bomber fit. That the Navy operated this particular airframe is a remarkable footnote in Cold War aviation history — an Air Force swept-wing jet bomber wearing Navy markings and serving a fleet support mission, a testament to the interservice demand for capable EW platforms during the 1960s and early 1970s.

Fleet Electronic Warfare Support was a critical and often overlooked mission: simulating Soviet electronic threats to train Navy crews, evaluate shipboard and airborne defensive systems, and probe the readiness of the fleet's electronic defenses. The EB-47E's speed, range, and large airframe made it well suited to replicating the threat profiles of Soviet bombers and electronic warfare aircraft that the Navy expected to face in a real conflict. Serial 524100 represents one of the most unusual operator/airframe combinations of the Cold War era.

A rare and fascinating cross-service subject that will stand out in any Cold War EW or Stratojet collection. Please allow some time for decal printing and shipping.
