These are N scale 3D printable files for the Bombardier Comet II Coach Car — the intermediate trailer coach designed to pair with the Comet II Cab Control Car (also available from Out of the Box Models) to build a complete and prototypically accurate Comet II consist. Available in MBTA and Metro-North (MNCR) markings.

The Comet II was a family of bi-level push-pull commuter coaches built by Bombardier in the late 1970s and early 1980s for the northeastern United States commuter rail market. Designed for push-pull operation — where a locomotive pushes the train from one end while the engineer controls it from a cab car at the other — the Comet II coaches formed the bulk of each consist, carrying the majority of passengers in the train's distinctive bi-level configuration that maximized seating capacity within the constraints of the northeastern loading gauge.

The coach car is the workhorse of the Comet II consist — multiple coaches would be marshaled between the locomotive and the cab control car, with the exact number varying by service requirements and time of day. Modeling a prototypically accurate Comet II train requires multiple coach cars, making this the essential building block for any northeastern commuter rail layout depicting the 1980s through 2000s era.

The two livery options reflect the Comet II's two major northeastern operators:

• MBTA — the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, operating Comet II equipment on Boston's commuter rail network radiating from South Station and North Station to the suburbs of eastern Massachusetts.
• MNCR (Metro-North Railroad) — operating Comet II equipment on the commuter lines serving New York City and the suburbs of Connecticut and the Hudson Valley.
