These are N scale 3D printable files for the BNSF Budd Big Dome Business Car #31 Bay View — a named executive business car with a three-railroad ownership history, tracing its origins from the Santa Fe Railway (ATSF) through to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF). Available in two decal variants representing the car's BNSF career: BNSF 31 Early Scheme and BNSF 31 Late Scheme.

The Bay View began its life as one of the ATSF 506–513 series Budd Big Dome cars — full-length dome cars built by the Budd Company for the Santa Fe's premier passenger trains including the Super Chief and El Capitan, featuring an expansive upper-level glass dome running nearly the full length of the car. After its revenue passenger service career, the car was retained by the Santa Fe and converted for use as an executive business car, renumbered as ATSF 60 in the process. When the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway merged in 1995 to form the BNSF, the car passed to the new railroad's executive fleet and was renumbered again as BNSF 31, receiving the name Bay View — a name evoking the scenic vistas that the car's sweeping full-length dome was uniquely suited to provide.

As a business car, the Bay View served BNSF officers and guests on executive travel and line inspection trips across the BNSF's vast network spanning the western United States. The retention of a former Big Dome car as an executive business car was a natural choice — the full-length dome provided an unparalleled viewing platform for line inspection purposes, and the car's spacious interior offered ample room for the meeting and hospitality facilities expected of a flagship executive car.

The two decal variants capture the car's evolution through its BNSF service life:

• BNSF 31 Early Scheme — the car in its earlier BNSF livery following the 1995 merger.
• BNSF 31 Late Scheme — the car in its updated later BNSF livery as the railroad's corporate identity evolved.
