Cessna 305 Prototype N41694

These are 1/72 scale decals for Cessna 305 Prototype N41694, the aircraft that would win the U.S. Army's 1950 liaison and observation aircraft competition and enter service as the legendary L-19 Bird Dog.

The Cessna 305 was developed as a private venture in response to the Army's requirement for a rugged, simple, and reliable liaison and forward air control aircraft. N41694 competed against designs from several manufacturers and impressed Army evaluators with its docile handling, excellent visibility, and short-field performance. Its selection led directly to one of the most successful and long-lived military light aircraft programs in American history.

This decal set includes two marking options for N41694 — one depicting the prototype on conventional wheeled landing gear and one on floats, reflecting the amphibious evaluation trials conducted during the competition. The prototype should be finished in natural metal.
