These are 1/72 scale decals for Cessna L-19A Bird Dog 50-1327, the aircraft used by President-Elect Dwight D. Eisenhower to tour the Korean front lines in December 1952.

During his presidential campaign, Eisenhower had famously promised "I shall go to Korea" — a pledge that resonated deeply with an American public weary of the stalemated conflict. True to his word, shortly after winning the election, Eisenhower made a secret three-day visit to Korea to personally assess the military situation on the ground. The L-19A Bird Dog, with its exceptional low-speed handling and outstanding visibility, was the ideal aircraft for a close-up tour of the front lines — giving the former Supreme Allied Commander a firsthand look at the terrain and conditions facing U.S. and UN forces.

This modest liaison aircraft thus carried one of the most consequential passengers of the Korean War era, making it a uniquely historic subject. The model should be finished in Olive Drab.
