These are 1/72 scale decals for Cessna L-19A Bird Dog 51-12304, assigned to Army Materiel Command (AMC), United States Army, equipped with floats for amphibious operations evaluation.

Army Materiel Command was responsible for the research, development, procurement, and logistics of Army equipment, and float-equipped Bird Dogs fell squarely within its remit for evaluating expanded operational configurations. The addition of floats gave the L-19A the ability to operate from lakes, rivers, and coastal waters — a potentially valuable capability in the many theaters where suitable land strips were unavailable.

Float-equipped Bird Dogs saw real-world use in Alaska and other remote environments, and AMC's evaluation work on aircraft like 51-12304 helped establish the parameters for amphibious liaison operations. A visually distinctive and operationally interesting variant that stands apart from the standard wheeled Bird Dog. The model should be finished in Olive Drab.
