These are 1/72 scale decals for Cessna L-19A Bird Dog 50-1327, assigned to the U.S. Army Aviation School, Camp Rucker, Alabama — depicted in its early natural metal scheme as one of the first production Bird Dogs.

Camp Rucker (later Fort Rucker, now Fort Novosel) was the home of U.S. Army Aviation and the primary training center for Army pilots and liaison aircraft crews. As an early production L-19A, 50-1327 would have been at the forefront of the Army's postwar effort to develop and institutionalize its organic aviation capability.

This aircraft has a remarkable footnote in history — the very same airframe, 50-1327, would later be used to carry President-Elect Dwight D. Eisenhower on his famous secret tour of the Korean front lines in December 1952. This decal set captures the aircraft in its earlier stateside training role, before that historic mission. The model should be finished in natural metal.
