The 220th Aviation Company was a U.S. Army aviation unit that operated in Vietnam, flying Bird Dogs in the critical battlefield observation and liaison role — providing ground commanders with real-time aerial reconnaissance and directing artillery fire and airstrikes against enemy positions.
