These are 1/72 scale decals for the Cessna OE-1 Bird Dog, operated by VMO-2 (Marine Observation Squadron 2), United States Marine Corps.

The OE-1 was the Marine Corps' designation for the Bird Dog, acquired to fulfill the USMC's organic battlefield observation and artillery spotting requirements. VMO-2 was one of the Corps' primary observation squadrons, flying the OE-1 in the low-altitude reconnaissance and forward air control role in direct support of Marine ground forces — a mission central to the Marine Corps' combined arms doctrine of tightly integrating air and ground combat power.

Marine OE-1s served extensively during the Korean War and into the early Vietnam era, operating from austere forward airstrips close to the front lines.
