These are 1/72 scale decals for Douglas A-24B Banshee 42-54654, assigned to the Air Technical Service Command (ATSC), United States Army Air Forces — a survivor that is today preserved and on display at the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona.
The A-24B was the final and most refined production variant of the Banshee, incorporating detail improvements over the earlier A-24 and A-24A. The Air Technical Service Command was the USAAF organization responsible for the procurement, maintenance, modification, and technical evaluation of aircraft and equipment — and A-24Bs in ATSC service were used for a variety of technical support, liaison, and utility duties as the type transitioned out of frontline combat service.
The fact that 42-54654 survives today at Pima — one of the world's great aviation museums — makes this a particularly special decal subject, allowing modelers to recreate an actual, viewable aircraft. A wonderful tribute to one of the unsung workhorses of the USAAF and a great addition to any World War II American aviation collection.
