These are 1/72 scale decals for Douglas QF-24A Banshee 42-6783, assigned to the Wright Air Development Center (WADC), Flight Test Division, 2750th Air Base Group, United States Air Force.

The QF-24A was a drone conversion of the A-24A Banshee — the “Q” prefix in the USAF designation system denoting an unmanned aircraft modified to fly without a pilot under remote control. Unlike the DF-24B drone director (48-045) from the same unit, which controlled other drones from a crewed cockpit, the QF-24A was itself the drone — a pilotless aircraft flown remotely in support of the Flight Test Division's research and development programs at WADC.

Operating under the Wright Air Development Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base — the nerve center of USAF research and development — the QF-24A contributed to the cutting-edge flight test work of the early Cold War era, when unmanned aircraft were increasingly valued for their ability to perform hazardous or repetitive test missions without risk to a crew.

Together with the DF-24B drone director and the EZF-24B testbed also from WADC, this decal set completes a fascinating trio of Banshee variants illustrating the full range of postwar research and test support roles performed by surplus A-24s at Wright-Patterson. Finished in natural metal. Please allow some time for decal printing and shipping.
