These are N scale 3D printable files for the EMC EA — the cab unit of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad's EMC EA/EB passenger locomotive fleet, produced exclusively for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad (B&O) by the Electro-Motive Corporation (EMC). The B&O rostered 6 EA cab units, paired with 6 EB booster units, for its premier passenger services. Designed to fit on a Kato E unit donor mechanism.

The EMC EA was produced by the Electro-Motive Corporation (EMC) — the predecessor to Electro-Motive Division (EMD) — as a streamlined passenger cab unit in the early E unit lineage, and was ordered exclusively by the Baltimore & Ohio. Five of the six EAs remained with the B&O for their entire service careers. The exception was B&O EA #52, which was sold to the Alton Railroad in 1940 and subsequently passed into the Gulf, Mobile & Ohio Railroad (GM&O) fleet when the Alton was absorbed by the GM&O in 1947 — making it the only EA ever to operate under a railroad other than the B&O. The companion EMC EB booster unit was fully B&O-exclusive throughout its entire production run.

The B&O operated its EA/EB fleet on the railroad's premier passenger services connecting Baltimore, Washington D.C., and Chicago, including the celebrated Capitol Limited — one of the most prestigious passenger train routes on the eastern seaboard. The EA's streamlined carbody and the B&O's distinctive passenger livery made these among the most elegant locomotives of the early diesel era.

This shell is designed to fit on a Kato E unit donor mechanism. The Fully Painted and Decaled Model option requires a donor mechanism supplied by the customer.
