These are N scale 3D printable files for the Fairbanks-Morse Erie Built A Unit in Union Pacific Railroad markings — the Phase 2 configuration, specifically modeled for units 702–707. Designed to fit on a Kato PA frame.

The Erie Built was Fairbanks-Morse's entry into the postwar passenger locomotive market, produced between 1945 and 1949 in partnership with the General Electric Company at GE's Erie, Pennsylvania plant. Powered by FM's unique opposed-piston engine — in which two pistons share a single cylinder moving in opposite directions, eliminating the cylinder head entirely — the Erie Built offered exceptional power density in an elegant streamlined carbody with the distinctive "shark nose" profile that made it one of the most visually striking passenger locomotives of the postwar era.

The Union Pacific Railroad was one of the Erie Built's significant buyers, rostering a fleet of A units for service on its premier passenger trains across the American West. The Phase 2 units — 702–707 — represent the UP's Erie Builts in their later configuration, distinguishable from the Phase 1 units by specific external details that evolved across the production run and through subsequent modifications. These locomotives worked UP's flagship passenger services across its vast network stretching from Chicago and Kansas City to the Pacific Coast, hauling trains such as the City of Los Angeles, City of San Francisco, and City of Portland in the railroad's striking Armour Yellow and gray passenger livery.

A perfect companion to the FM Erie Built B Unit also available from Out of the Box Models for building a complete UP Erie Built consist.
