AMTK Horizon Fleet Coach

These are N scale 3D printable files for the AMTK Horizon Fleet Coach — the standard passenger seating car of AMTK's Horizon Fleet, the single-level intercity equipment built by the Budd Company in the 1970s and 1980s for AMTK's corridor and medium-distance services. Available in three decal variants: Phase III, Phase IV, and Phase V.

The Horizon Fleet was a supplementary single-level equipment order, deployed alongside the larger Amfleet I and II fleets on routes where the bilevel Superliner cars were not suitable — principally on eastern corridor routes and shorter western services where low platform stations and tunnel clearances precluded double-deck equipment. While the Amfleet cars formed the backbone of AMTK's single-level operations, the Horizon Fleet brought a more modern, updated design with larger windows and improved passenger amenities, and the cars have served reliably on a variety of AMTK routes since their introduction, with many remaining in active service today.

A prototypically accurate Horizon Fleet consist requires multiple coaches marshaled together, making this the essential building block of any Horizon Fleet train. The three decal options trace the coach through AMTK's evolving livery history:

• Phase III — the coach in AMTK's bold Phase III red, white, and blue scheme with the large AMTK logo — one of the most recognizable passenger train liveries in American railroad history, introduced in the 1970s and carried by the Horizon Fleet throughout much of its early service life.
• Phase IV — the coach in AMTK's updated Phase IV livery, reflecting the refinements to AMTK's color scheme introduced in the 1990s.
• Phase V — the coach in AMTK's current Phase V livery, the contemporary scheme carried by AMTK equipment on the national network today.
