These are 1/72 scale decals for Naval Aircraft Factory N3N-3 2764, modex 46, in the floatplane configuration with overall Orange-Yellow (FS 13538), Flat Black (FS 37038) anti-glare panel, and bold "NAVY" fuselage titling — as operated by NAS Annapolis at the U.S. Naval Academy, circa 1960, in the final years of the N3N's operational service life.

By 1960, the N3N-3 was an anachronism — a fabric-covered biplane trainer from the 1930s still flying alongside jet aircraft in the postwar U.S. Navy. Yet at NAS Annapolis, the Yellow Peril soldiered on, giving Naval Academy midshipmen their introduction to floatplane operations on the Severn River. The postwar "NAVY" titling and post-1947 national insignia without the red surround place 2764 firmly in the late 1950s–early 1960s period — the twilight of the biplane era in American military aviation. The N3N was finally retired in 1961, making it the last biplane in U.S. military service.

The NAS Annapolis crest is included on the decal sheet, along with the Naval Aviator wings. Includes two serial and modex size options: 46 and 2764 in two sizes.

The perfect capstone to the ootbModels N3N-3 trilogy — from wartime USMC trainer to Smithsonian artifact to the last Yellow Peril still flying at Annapolis. Please allow some time for decal printing and shipping.
