These are 1/72 scale decals for the Northrop 3-A XP-948, evaluated by the Materiel Division at Wright Field, Ohio under the United States Army Air Corps, wearing a striking scheme of Light Blue No. 23 overall with Yellow No. 4 wing leading edges, wheel spats, and tail stripes, with pre-war national insignia featuring the red center dot and the distinctive red and white rudder stripes.

The Northrop 3-A was a single-seat monoplane fighter developed by Northrop Corporation in the mid-1930s as a private venture export fighter, drawing on the same design philosophy that produced the Northrop Gamma and Delta — clean monoplane lines, stressed-skin construction, and a retractable undercarriage at a time when many contemporaries still flew biplanes. The XP-948 designation was assigned by the Army Air Corps for evaluation purposes at Wright Field, home of the Materiel Division — the USAAC's primary center for aircraft testing, procurement, and technical development.

The Light Blue and Yellow scheme is one of the most visually arresting of the interwar period, combining the standard USAAC evaluation blue with the bright yellow accent markings that characterized many 1930s Army aircraft. The Materiel Division seal and Army Air Corps wings are included on the decal sheet alongside the pre-war national insignia with red center dot and red-and-white rudder stripes. Includes two national insignia size options.

A rare and visually striking interwar prototype subject for any 1930s USAAC, Northrop, or pre-war fighter collection. Please allow some time for decal printing and shipping.
