These are 1/72 scale decals for the Piper PE-1 Enforcer N201PE, evaluated by the United States Air Force Air Force Systems Command, wearing a three-tone COIN camouflage scheme of Forest Green (FS 34079), Medium Green (FS 34102), and Dark Tan (FS 30219) with "PIPER ENFORCER" fuselage titling and civil registration N201PE — the aircraft as it appeared before redesignation as the PA-48.

The Piper Enforcer was one of the most audacious proposals in postwar American aviation — a turboprop-powered evolution of the North American P-51 Mustang, developed by Piper Aircraft in the 1970s as a low-cost, high-endurance counterinsurgency (COIN) and close air support platform. The concept was rooted in the Vietnam-era debate over whether fast jets were the right tool for low-intensity conflict, or whether a slower, cheaper, more fuel-efficient turboprop could deliver more ordnance on target for less money. Piper's answer was to take the most legendary piston fighter of World War II and re-engine it with a Lycoming T55 turboprop, producing an aircraft with Mustang DNA but jet-age powerplant reliability and endurance.

The PE-1 designation was applied to the first prototype evaluated under the USAF Enforcer program, before the type was formally designated PA-48 for the subsequent pair of USAF-funded evaluation aircraft. Air Force Systems Command oversaw the evaluation, which ultimately concluded that the Enforcer — despite its impressive performance and low operating costs — did not meet the Air Force's requirements, and the program was cancelled.
