These are N scale 3D printable files for the Pullman Plan 4099 6-6-4 Sleeper — one of the most widespread and prototypically significant sleeping car designs in American railroad history, built by the Pullman Company and operated across a remarkable range of railroads and named trains. Available in 15 decal variants spanning the ATSF, CNW, Erie, IC, MP, SP, and UP.

The 6-6-4 configuration refers to the car's sleeping accommodation layout: 6 sections (open berths that converted from facing seats by day to upper and lower berths by night), 6 roomettes (private single-occupancy rooms with a fold-down bed), and 4 double bedrooms (larger private rooms accommodating two passengers). This combination of accommodation types made the Plan 4099 a versatile and commercially attractive car, offering something for every budget and preference within a single carbody — from the economical open section to the privacy of a double bedroom — and its widespread adoption across so many railroads is a testament to how well the design balanced capacity, flexibility, and passenger comfort.

The 15 decal options reflect the Plan 4099's extraordinary reach across American railroading:

Santa Fe (ATSF):

  • ATSF Shadow Lined — the classic Santa Fe two-tone red and silver warbonnet scheme with shadow-lined lettering, as carried on the Super Chief, El Capitan, and other premier AT&SF passenger trains between Chicago and Los Angeles.
  • ATSF Two-Tone Gray — the Santa Fe's two-tone gray passenger livery, used on sleeping cars assigned to trains not carrying the full warbonnet scheme.
  • ATSF Gray — the later simplified gray scheme as applied to Santa Fe sleeping cars in the postwar era.

Chicago & North Western (CNW):

  • CNW — the Chicago & North Western's passenger livery, representing the car in CNW service on its long-distance and overnight trains.

Erie Railroad:

  • ERIE — the Erie Railroad's two-tone green passenger scheme, as carried on Erie sleeping cars on its overnight services between New York and Chicago via the railroad's southern New York and Ohio route.

Illinois Central (IC):

  • IC — the Illinois Central's passenger livery, representing the car on IC overnight and long-distance services on the City of New Orleans and other IC named trains between Chicago and the Gulf Coast.

Missouri Pacific (MP):

  • MP — the Missouri Pacific's passenger livery, representing the car on MP services connecting St. Louis and Kansas City with Texas and the Southwest.

Southern Pacific (SP) — six variants reflecting the SP's rich passenger train heritage:

  • SP Golden State Red — the red and gray livery of the Golden State, the SP/Rock Island joint service between Chicago and Los Angeles via Tucson and El Paso.
  • SP Golden State Simulated Stainless Steel — the later simulated stainless steel scheme applied to Golden State equipment as the service was updated in the postwar era.
  • SP Lark — the overnight Lark between Los Angeles and San Francisco, one of the SP's most celebrated overnight trains and a favorite of California business travelers.
  • SP Overland — the prewar livery of the Overland Limited, the SP/UP/CNW joint transcontinental service between Chicago and San Francisco.
  • SP Overland (Postwar) — the updated postwar livery of the Overland as the SP modernized its passenger car markings following World War II.
  • SP Owl — the overnight Owl between Los Angeles and San Francisco, the SP's workhorse overnight California coastal service.
  • SP Yellow and Gray — the SP's yellow and gray scheme applied to sleeping cars assigned to joint SP/UP services, matching the Union Pacific's Armour Yellow passenger livery on through cars.

Union Pacific (UP):

  • UP — the Union Pacific's Armour Yellow and gray passenger livery, representing the car on UP's premier transcontinental services including the City of Los Angeles, City of San Francisco, and City of Portland.
