These are N scale 3D printable files for the Pullman Plan 7635 Super Dome Lounge as rebuilt by the Canadian National Railway — representing the CN's significant reconstruction of these iconic bi-level dome cars, which gave them a second and third life under CN (2400–2405), AMTK Phase III, and VIA Rail Canada (2700–2705) markings.
The Pullman Super Dome was one of the most spectacular passenger cars of the postwar streamliner era — a full-length bi-level dome car with an expansive upper-level glass dome running nearly the entire length of the car, offering passengers a panoramic view of the passing landscape unmatched by any other equipment in regular service. Originally built by Pullman-Standard in the early 1950s for the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad (the Milwaukee Road) for use on its premier transcontinental streamliner, the Olympian Hiawatha, the Super Domes were among the largest and most impressive dome cars ever constructed. The Olympian Hiawatha operated between Chicago and Seattle/Tacoma over the Milwaukee Road's electrified transcontinental main line through the Rocky Mountains and Cascades, and the Super Domes were the crown jewel of its consist — offering passengers a breathtaking view of some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in North America from the comfort of the full-length dome.
The Canadian National Railway acquired a number of these cars after their Milwaukee Road service and undertook a significant rebuild program, modifying the cars' interior configuration and updating them for continued service on CN's transcontinental and long-distance passenger trains across Canada. The CN rebuild — reflected in this model — produced a visually and structurally distinct version of the Super Dome from the original Milwaukee Road configuration, making it a separate and specific prototype subject. The rebuilt cars were numbered in the CN 2400–2405 series.
The three decal options trace the cars' subsequent ownership history:
- CN 2400–2405 — the cars in Canadian National markings following the CN rebuild, representing the cars in their rebuilt configuration on CN's passenger services.
- AMTK Phase III — the cars in AMTK's Phase III livery, representing the Super Domes in AMTK service following their transfer to the US national passenger carrier.
- VIA 2700–2705 — the cars in VIA Rail Canada markings, as VIA assumed operation of CN's passenger services in 1978 and inherited the rebuilt Super Domes for continued use on Canadian long-distance trains.
