These are N scale 3D printable files for the Pullman Plan 7635 Super Dome Lounge in its original as-built configuration — the Milwaukee Road (MILW) Super Dome as delivered, without the later modifications seen in the companion fluted-sides and AC-unit versions. Available in seven decal variants spanning the full ownership history of these cars: MILW 1952–1957, MILW 1957–1971, AMTK Phase I, CN 2400–2405, CNW 421 Powder River, CO 20, and RBMN 4.
The Pullman Super Dome was built by the Pullman Company for the Milwaukee Road beginning in 1952 as one of the three great full-length dome car designs of the postwar streamliner era — alongside the Great Northern's Great Dome and the Santa Fe's Big Dome. The Milwaukee Road's Super Domes featured an expansive upper-level glass dome running nearly the full length of the car and served on the railroad's premier Olympian Hiawatha and other named trains. After the Milwaukee Road's passenger service ended, the cars dispersed to a remarkable variety of subsequent operators across the United States and Canada, making the Super Dome one of the most widely traveled dome car types in American railroad history.
The seven decal variants trace the Super Dome through its complete ownership history in the as-built body configuration:
- MILW 1952–1957 — the cars in the Milwaukee Road's original delivery livery as applied from their introduction in 1952 through the railroad's first major livery update in 1957, representing the Super Domes in their earliest and most historically significant configuration on the Olympian Hiawatha.
- MILW 1957–1971 — the cars in the Milwaukee Road's updated livery applied from 1957 through the end of Milwaukee Road passenger service in 1971, representing the Super Domes through the majority of their original railroad career.
- AMTK Phase I — the cars in the AMTK Phase I red, white, and blue livery applied following the 1971 nationalization of intercity passenger rail service in the United States.
- CN 2400–2405 — Canadian National: the cars as operated by Canadian National Railway, numbered 2400–2405, on CN's passenger services across Canada.
- CNW 421 Powder River — Chicago & North Western: the car operated by the Chicago & North Western Railway as CNW 421, named Powder River — part of the CNW's executive business train fleet also represented in the CNW business train car listings from Out of the Box Models.
- CO 20 — Chessie Safety Express: the car as operated in the famous Chessie Safety Express excursion train program, one of the most celebrated special passenger train operations of the 1970s and 1980s, carrying railroad employees and their families on safety awareness excursions across the Chessie System network.
- RBMN 4 — Reading Blue Mountain & Northern: the car as operated by the Reading Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad on excursion and special passenger services in Pennsylvania.
