These are N scale 3D printable files for the Pullman Plan 7635 Super Dome Lounge as modified with roof-mounted air conditioning units — former Milwaukee Road (MILW) Super Dome cars that went on to second careers in tourist and scenic railroad service after their original Milwaukee Road assignments. Available in three decal variants: CRRX Version 1, CRRX Version 2, and HALX 50, 56, 555 and 557.

The Pullman Super Dome — built by the Pullman Company for the Milwaukee Road — was one of the three great full-length dome car designs of the postwar streamliner era, alongside the Great Northern's Great Dome and the Santa Fe's Big Dome. The Milwaukee Road's Super Domes featured an expansive upper-level glass dome running nearly the full length of the car and served on the railroad's premier Olympian Hiawatha and other named trains across the northern transcontinental route. After the Milwaukee Road's passenger service declined and the cars were retired from original service, they were acquired by subsequent operators who modified them for tourist and scenic railroad use — most notably by adding roof-mounted air conditioning units, a practical necessity for operations in warmer climates and enclosed environments that gives these cars their immediately distinctive modified appearance compared to the as-built Super Dome profile.

The three decal variants represent two very different second-career assignments:

  • CRRX Version 1 and CRRX Version 2 — the cars as operated by the Cañon City & Royal Gorge Railroad (CRRX) in Colorado, where the Super Domes provided spectacular elevated viewing of the dramatic Royal Gorge canyon scenery along the Arkansas River — one of the most scenic railroad routes in North America. The two CRRX versions represent different livery or detail variations of the cars in Colorado service.
  • HALX 50, 56, 555 and 557 — Holland America Westours: the cars as operated by Holland America Westours on its Alaska tourist train service between Anchorage and Fairbanks, where the full-length dome provided cruise passengers with panoramic views of the Alaska Range and the Alaskan interior — one of the most scenically spectacular passenger train assignments in the world.
