Republic P-47D-25-RE 42-26756 Brazilian 1st Fighter Squadron "Senta a Pua!" Italy 1944-45

These are 1/72 scale decals for Republic P-47D-25-RE Thunderbolt 42-26756, assigned to the 1st Fighter Aviation Group (1º Grupo de Aviação de Caça) of the Força Aérea Brasileira (Brazilian Air Force) — the legendary "Senta a Pua!" squadron — as flown over Italy, 1944–45, wearing Olive Drab (ANA 613) over Sea Gray (ANA 603) with the distinctive green and yellow tail stripes, Brazilian national roundel in four sizes, and modex A4.

The 1st Fighter Aviation Group was one of only two Latin American combat units to fight alongside the Allies in World War II — the other being Mexico's 201st Fighter Squadron, also represented in the Out of the Box Models range. Attached to the 350th Fighter Group, 12th Air Force in the Mediterranean Theater, the Brazilians flew 445 combat missions and over 2,500 sorties from bases in Italy, striking German supply lines, rail yards, bridges, and troop concentrations across northern Italy and the Po Valley. Their battle cry — "Senta a Pua!" (roughly "Give it to them!" or "Stick it to them!") — became one of the most famous phrases in Brazilian military history.

The Olive Drab over Sea Gray scheme with the bold green and yellow tail stripes — the colors of the Brazilian flag — and the distinctive Brazilian roundel featuring the Southern Cross make this one of the most striking Allied fighter schemes of the Italian campaign. The Força Aérea Brasileira wings and 1st Fighter Squadron "Senta a Pua!" patch with its cartoon anteater mascot are included on the decal sheet.
