Yak-9D White 100 Polish Air Force

These are 1/72 scale decals for Yakovlev Yak-9D, White 100, assigned to the 1st Fighter Regiment "Warszawa", Polish Air Force — a long-range escort variant of the Soviet Union's most produced fighter of World War II, serving with one of the most symbolically significant Polish military aviation units of the war.

The Yak-9D was the dedicated long-range escort variant of the Yakovlev Yak-9 family, fitted with additional fuel tanks that extended its range to over 1,400 kilometers — making it capable of escorting Soviet bombers on deep penetration missions far beyond the reach of standard Yak-9s. Powered by a Klimov VK-105PF liquid-cooled V-12 engine and armed with a 20mm ShVAK cannon firing through the propeller hub and a 12.7mm UBS machine gun, the Yak-9 family was the backbone of Soviet fighter aviation from 1942 onward, combining excellent handling, reliability, and combat effectiveness in a design that proved highly adaptable to specialized roles.

The 1st Fighter Regiment "Warszawa" was one of the Polish Air Force units formed on Soviet territory under the auspices of the Polish Armed Forces in the East, flying alongside the Red Air Force in the drive to liberate Poland from German occupation. The regiment's honorary name "Warszawa" — Warsaw — carried profound emotional weight for its pilots, many of whom had lost family, friends, and their entire former lives to the German invasion of 1939 and the subsequent occupation. Fighting their way westward toward the Polish capital in Soviet-supplied Yaks, the regiment's pilots were driven by a fierce determination to see their homeland liberated and their capital city freed.
