These are 1/72 scale decals for Yakovlev Yak-9T, White 79, assigned to the 1st Fighter Regiment "Warszawa", Polish Air Force — the tank-busting variant of the Yak-9 serving alongside the Yak-9D with one of the most emotionally charged Polish military aviation units of World War II.

The Yak-9T was a dedicated anti-armor and ground attack variant of the Yak-9 family, built around a devastating 37mm NS-37 cannon firing through the propeller hub — a weapon capable of destroying German armored vehicles, light tanks, and transport with a single well-placed round. The cannon's severe recoil demanded that pilots fire single shots with precision rather than bursts, making the Yak-9T a specialist's weapon that rewarded skill and nerve. Alongside the long-range Yak-9D, the Yak-9T gave the 1st Fighter Regiment a potent dual capability — escort and interception on one hand, and devastating ground attack on the other.

The 1st Fighter Regiment "Warszawa" was formed on Soviet territory as part of the Polish Armed Forces in the East, flying alongside the Red Air Force in the grinding westward advance that would ultimately liberate Poland from German occupation. The regiment's honorary name — "Warszawa", Warsaw — carried immense symbolic weight for its pilots, many of whom had lost everything to the German invasion of 1939. Fighting their way back toward the Polish capital in Soviet-supplied Yaks, striking German armor and positions with the Yak-9T's fearsome cannon, these men were driven by a personal and national determination that went far beyond military duty.

A powerful companion piece to the regiment's Yak-9D, and a deeply moving subject from one of the war's most determined fighting units. Please allow some time for decal printing and shipping.
